Food Court: The Best Easter Eggs and The WORST Easter Bunnies! #food #easterbunnies #eastereggs

Screen Shot 2013-03-30 at 14.27.57

Its Easter weekend everyone which means not only do you get two extra lie-ins but you also get to eat a shed load of Chocolates. Now who do we need to be thankful to for our choccy treats this weekend? Well, the ancient Egyptians, Persians, Phoenicians all believed the world started as one giant egg, so the egg is a symbol for new life…and 500 years ago a North African tribe which turned Christian began painting eggs, and so the tradition began and evolved into what we have for ourselves now, this weekend.

Enough of the history lesson though, Easter Eggs have become serious business for retailers. They range from the cheap cheap 50p eggs to $10,000 for the world’s most expensive Easter Egg.

William Curley's worlds most expensive Easter Egg

So what are the favourite Easter Eggs we’ve found this weekend? Here’s our top 3…

Number 3 – JAMES CHOCOLATES – Cupcake Easter Egg (£10-12).

Our very own Willy Wonka – The fantastic chocolatiers at James Chocolates have managed to build a blend of two very hot food items. The cupcakeScreen Shot 2013-03-30 at 14.03.10 and the Easter Egg

The one we really like the look of is the -Milk Honeycomb Cupcake Egg

A hollow milk chocolate egg topped with whipped chocolate and honeycomb pieces. We make this egg by swirling honeycomb crumbs into the molten chocolate, then we crown it with set whipped white chocolate and chunks of honeycomb.

YUMMY SCRUMMY!

Number 2 – Pierre Marcolini’s Avant Guarde Easter Egg design – (£22)

Screen Shot 2013-03-30 at 14.09.22This one is probably for all you forward thinkers, artistes, and fashionistas….who said Easter can’t be stylish?

Marcolini’s design wont break the bank but will provide a fitting alternative for those who think they may be just a tad too cool for a bog standard Easter Egg. Why we really like it? Well, its certainly different, but it also looks like you might get more chocolate per square inch – satisfying any chocoholic out there!

SOOO DELISH DARRRLLIING!!!

Number 1 – Cadbury Creme Egg – (50p – £1)

Who says the best things can’t be the cheapest. We love Cadbury’s classic treat that is easy to find, cheap to buy and for years has been impressing chocolate lovers everywhere! No its not covered in gold leaf, no its not expensive, but yes it can fit in your pocket (just remember that it’s in there so not to melt it) – These little beauties have stolen our hearts and now even the Huffington Post is showing us more innovative ways to create fun recipes with them.

SO MUCH CHOCOLATE, SO LITTLE TIME…MMMMMMM

So there you have it, our recommendations that should get your mouths watering this weekend, but there’s always a dark side to anything good, and unfortunately we’ve found it – the scariest Easter Bunny photos ever – click here if you dare, (the irony is that it comes from a site called http://www.happyplace.com!)

yeah we know...this is sooo not cool....

Happy Easter everyone!

Couture Couch: Think Technology is for Geeks? Think again fashionistas #fashion #technology

Screen Shot 2013-03-29 at 20.42.36

Long gone are those days where its not cool to be into mainframes and video games. To be honest wether its a homage to Super Mario or the latest tablet device, we just cant get enough of tech, tech, TECH!! So what does the future have in store for us?

Well, it seems that before long we’ll be wearing tech. Already we’re carrying some seriously expensive gear on us. What with laptops, ipod, ipads, iphones (not just Apple stuff of course – ahem!)  we’ve got thousands of these —>>> £$£$£$£$£$£$ in our bags every day. So the next step naturally is to wear it all right?

Google Glasses are the next piece of “wearable tech” that everyone’s talking about at the moment – yes we  may feel like a cross between Geordi LaForge in Star Trek and Jean Claude Van Damme in Universal Soldier,  but that combo could be the next cool thing and who cares if it limits privacy and potentially allows cyber criminals to hack into all our personal details – it looks cool right, RIGHT?

Well even if Google Glasses aren’t for you, yet, it looks like its just the start of some pretty bizarre pieces of future fashion. Here’s a great article from thecoolist.com talking through 10 ways tech is going to drive tomorrows fashion – laugh now, but this, could be you this summer or next….

Slash, Slash, Slash – Wolverine’s back! #xmen #wolverinetrailer #wolverine

Screen Shot 2013-03-27 at 15.27.19

Exploding onto our screens is the kick-ass Wolverine trailer…after Jackmans stint as an all singing, all dancing French criminal in Les Mis, he’s back and back to his bad self and we can’t wait to see what Wolverine has in store for us….but to wet our appetites, here’s a first look:

A bit more about what we can expect from the film:

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

The Multiplex: Prepared to be hypnotised by Danny Boyles #Trance

Screen Shot 2013-03-26 at 15.43.31

Pulling together a stellar cast with an intricate and intelligent tale of a heist gone wrong, Danny Boyle once again proves himself to be the leading force in British film making and a national treasure in terms of making Britain look classy, stylish and very VERY cool.

Trance follows the story of an art auctioneer Simon (James McAvoy) who finds himself entangled in a complicated web with a group of criminals when he agrees to help steal a multi-million pound painting, in exchange for them clearing his soaring gambling debts. Unfortunately the heist doesn’t go quite to plan, the painting is mis-laid and the only solution to finding it is through hypnotherapy.

The poster for the film displays its intricacies perfectly, Trance is a carefully woven puzzle that cleverly unravels as the film progresses. You have to be alert to watch it as there is so much going on, but it’s a highly enjoyable watch which is fast paced, beautifully shot and engaging from its opening run-through of the auction house security procedure, innocently narrated by McAvoy, through to its explosive ending.

The cast compliment each other exceptionally well. James McAvoy is fast securing himself as the UK’s strongest acting export with a wide variety of roles under his belt over the last few years, and a fantastic array of films out this year including Welcome to the Punch and Filth. It’s his journey that you follow throughout, as he manages to portray the naivety of an innocent man falling in with the wrong crowd brilliantly. You feel his fear towards the criminals immediately and there is a brilliant everyman likeability and acceptance to him, which you grow to trust and sympathise with throughout the film.

On the flip side you have Vincent Cassel’s Franck. A French criminal who sees the opportunity to score big with this heist and is the leader of the crime trio Simon gets caught up in. Initially he seems like the obvious bad guy, but again, there is a strange level of warmth and acceptance that you as an audience member and Elizabeth the hypnotherapist (Rosario Dawson) feels towards his character, which again demonstrates that all is not necessarily as it seems.

These two characters are displayed as the classic protagonist vs villain, which is an age old route to go down in story telling – along with the love interest thrown in the middle. However bring it up to present day, and Boyles cleverly shot tongue twister of a film keeps you guessing who really is the one to trust throughout. In addition to this, Dawson’s Elizabeth the hypnotherapist, is the final piece to the puzzle, her involvement is the trigger and solution for the twists in this tale. Again, as an audience member you remain unsure whether or not she is good or bad; and her motives don’t become clear until the very end but her calming portrayal balances out the hot headed performances of the two leading men.

Trance is one of those films that shows Boyles ability as a film maker at his very best. The fantastic script by Joe Ahearne and John Hodge is brought to life using beautiful cinematography which shows both the interior and exterior shots of London as a modern and exciting place to be. The editing between flash backs, trance states and present time helps to unravels each piece of the puzzle brilliantly and gives you that sudden eureka moment at the end but leaves you continually guessing throughout.

Altogether this stylish film will no doubt have cinema-goers raving about it and so they should, its Danny Boyle back to his best with an exciting crime story told in an innovative and breathtaking way.

The film hits cinemas tomorrow – which is brilliant for all you EE customers as its EE Wednesdays which means you can get two tickets for the price of one! Bonus – find out more about that, here

Happy Film watching!

If #KStew can pull off this fashion so can you! @ASOS #fashion

Calling all Fashionistas! Yes one of the top trends for Spring is MONOCHROME!!! Say what now?  What is all this monochrome madness? Well we think its that futuristic fashion sense we all look at on the catwalk and go…hmm…okay….

Then we check out one of the worlds hottest movie stars wearing it to promote some small film called…Twilight (?!)  – and suddenly it hits our high street – KAZAM! It’s here and its simply fabulous darling!

Screen Shot 2013-03-25 at 21.20.34

So what is Monochrome fashion?

Well Monochrome describes paintings, drawings, design, or photographs in one color or shades of one colour, so we’ll so often see the black and white combo in fashion and historically it was a go to look in the sixties…

So why is it making a come back?

Well, its one of the most wearable trends in fashion. You can have it small or large print, depending on how daring you’re feeling, and the traditional black and white colouring is pretty complimentary on most body shapes.

So where can YOU buy monochrome fashion?

Well we trawled the hottest fashion outlets and found that our much loved “fashion shop at the touch of a button” ASOS has some very wearable monochrome designs ready for you to order, enjoy and become a spring trend setter with. We think that this particular piece looks pretty stylish-ous!

Screen Shot 2013-03-25 at 20.55.22
