Put on a Hunger Games Party in 3 steps and may the odds be ever in your favour! #hungergames

Well if you weren’t already super excited about the next installment of The Hunger Games hitting cinema screens in November, you can get the reaping started with your very own Hunger Games themed party!

We attended a very special Hunger Games event day last week which gave us all the inspiration we needed to bring a little bit of Capitol into our lives for the end of the Summer. So forget the BBQ’s and go all out with stupendous style and the odds will ever be in your favour!

Step 1: Bake the Book!

No not literally, but we absolutely LOVED the Hunger Games cup cakes at the event day, and felt that no Hunger Games party would be complete without them. So here’s a really helpful video from across the pond, which will inevitably get your mouth watering for what is an essential party piece… the Mockingjay cupcake!

 

Step 2: Get the Look!

Who would have thought the Capitol would have been so on trend in the real world. Well, as we found out there are two major fashion go-go’s coming out of The Hunger Games and one is Capitol party style and the other is Tribute tracksuits!

For the Capitol party style you can look no further than your local fashion retailer for some fantastic bits. It doesn’t have to cost your district to get Captiol fashion and there’s so much out there…

And if you want to shuffle along like Effie Trinket, then how about these Chinese Laundry China Doll Heeled Shoes… you’ll need to splash out a little bit more, but once again they’re on sale at ASOS.com for £62.00 (RRP £120.00)

 But if you’re feeling more in tune with one of the Tributes, then you might want to spend your cash on the futuristic exercise range from Lucas Hugh London. Having never provided products for movies before, its Creative Director Anjhe Mule was sought out and hand picked by Catching Fire Costume Designer Trish Summerville to help provide some of the amazing outfits for the films key stars.

Step 3: Top up Trinket Style

No party look would be complete without an Effie Trinket make over and the amazing make up artist who took care of Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth at the UK premiere told us that the key to Effie Trinket’s looks is clashing colours, blended together on the eyes and hyper real pale skin! She also mentioned that since The Hunger Games hit our cinema screens, people have really realized that make up can be much more fun, and that there really aren’t any rules, so maybe there’s a little bit of Capitol in this capital city after all!

How to look elegant and fabulous when pregnant #pregnancy #fashion #lifestyle

Well it really does seem that 2013 is going to be a big year for babies… what with the hotly anticipated Royal baby due this Summer in the UK, and the queen of reality TV producing a suitable heir to the Kardashian throne over in the US. So whilst we all wait with baited breath to see who has the cutest kiddie later this year, we can’t help but spend our time doting on who made the right (or wrong) fashion choices throughout their pregnancy.

So lets start with the not so good shall we? Poor old Kim Kardashian – she is getting it in the ear quite a lot about her  pregnancy clothing choices. But should we really be giving her such a hard time? Shouldn’t you be proud of your beautiful bump? Of course, so why when wearing such tight gear is she getting such a telling off? Well, maybe squeezing into a leather dress when pregnant is a little over board (and may be a little too restrictive for baby bump), but she looks happy and healthy so we’ll let this one slide.

If you want to show off your beautiful bump when out and about, how best should you do this? Well here’s a selection of choices which we think look lovely and elegant:

Here you can look stylish and ready to take on the world as you head out teaming a tight top with a fashionable jacket to balance it up, and then some great skinny jeans to remind yourself that yes, you still can fit into them, and yes, you still look fabulous!

The queen of mastering a fashionable pregnancy is Nicole Richie. With Summer quickly approaching its going to be all about cute sandals and floaty dresses (the perfect combination to show off your blossoming bump and glowing complexion). You can find inspiration from Nicoles’ A Pea in the Pod collection – a perfect excuse to do some internet shopping!

Who says you don’t know how to party when pregnant? On a (relatively relaxed) night out, make sure you still turn heads and dismiss anything dumpy by saying hello to sensational pregnancy wear. Take some inspiration from Peaches Geldof (yes, we never thought we’d say this but…) she looks so fabulous in this vintage looking frock which says ‘I’m pregnant, proud and fabulous’ Who says this look is just for celebrities, get creative and get out there!

So there you go, three simple ways of looking pregnant and perfect at the same time! So Kimmy K may not be our style guru of 2013, but at least she embraces her bumps and curves as every woman should.

The final piece of the puzzle is nearly here. The Hangover III is almost upon us – there’s very little about the film out on the net at the moment, but what we can share with you is a couple of its awesome posters and the latest film trailer – oh and the knowledge that we have about what to expect from the film….

This time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

Yup, that’s it for now, but if you’re a fan of the past films we’re sure you WONT be disappointed!

Ultramarines: A #Warhammer 40,000 Movie comes to DVD/Blu in June @WARherald

For anyone who doesn’t know what Warhammer is, we can tell you…its one of the most popular and successful wargame franchises of all time! Yeah! Pretty impressive!

And now it comes re-imagined and brought to life as a dazzling, blood-soaked CG animated movie. Featuring the vocal talents of Terence Stamp, John Hurt and Sean Pertwee, its called Ultramarines: A Warhammer 40,000 Movie.

So what happens in this film?

It is the 41st Millennium, and the only force that stands between humanity and alien hordes are the Space Marines. Genetically enhanced, clad in power armour and knowing no fear, they are the angels of death. And the greatest of them are the Ultramarines. But when a select squad of scarred veterans and raw recruits responds to a distant planet’s distress beacon, they discover that a horrific evil has been unleashed. Amidst a living nightmare of chaos, carnage, and daemonic fury, these steel battle-brothers must now survive the ultimate enemy: themselves.

Sounds pretty cool no? 

It’s loud, it’s bloody, it has unfeasibly well-armoured Space Marines firing huge guns at anything that moves and features one of the most impressively fearsome villains we’ve seen in ages. Pure boy’s own, sci-fi escapism at its best.

It explodes onto DVD and Blu-ray on 17th June – so Warhammer fans and those curious about Warhammer, make sure you pick up a copy!
