@nowtv can read your mind…well sort of! #technology #television #NowTV #magic

So earlier this month (and as you can see from the fun video above), the fab people at Now TV teamed up with the even more fab magician/oddball John van der Put and his pooch, Mr Piffles, to predict what you’ll love to watch on the NOW TV Box this winter…

With a captive audience at Waterloo station van der Put was put to the test earlier this month and managed to wow commuters with his magical prowess and predictions.

However, Now TV realised that van der Put was proving far too popular, and seeing that they couldn’t mass produce him, the easiest thing would be to add a new element to its already popular device, and they called it…the Mind Reader.

NOW TV Mind Reader, is a new magical predicition tool that helps viewers select the perfect film, sporting event or TV show for them from NOW TV’s expansive offering…keen to find out more?  You can try it for yourself here www.nowtv.com/mindreader and see what NOW TV predicts for you!

Sorry, I’ve forgotten, what’s NOW TV again?

Screen Shot 2013-10-08 at 09.08.12

To celebrate the launch of the NOW TV Box, the tiny device which turns your TV into a smart TV and opens up a world of Sky content for an unbeatable price of £9.99, NOW TV have launched the #NOWTVBox Hunt campaign which aims to let people ‘look through the eyes of the box’ and guess where in the world they are – sounds cool right?!

To get going,  visit the #NOWTVBox hunt website, where you’’ll be dropped into a location relevant to film and sports content available on NOW TV using some neat Google Maps and Street View integration. You’ll have to  then guess where in the world you are by placing a pin on a world map – simples!Screen Shot 2013-10-08 at 09.06.50

you can get clues to the content and location by sharing to Facebook and Twitter and guessing which film or sports event the location is from. Points are then awarded based on how far the pin was dropped from the actual location, with the highest scorers each day winning TV’s and NOW TV Boxes.

Remember the NOW TV Box gives you access to Sky Movies, sports and entertainment content available, all without a contract.

The campaign runs until 25th October so get involved! We will, it sounds like so much fun!!!!

Are Hollywood Blockbusters in Crisis? Our film critic @rebecca_perfect gives her thoughts #film #filmnews #newstalklive

If you missed it on Friday, our resident Film Critic Rebecca Perfect (@rebecca_perfect) kicked off the weekend by appearing on 5 News Talk Live to discuss this issue and see if, following this summer supposed ‘film flops,’ we’re headed for a disaster movie of our own…

So why don’t you let us know what you think…

Are there too many big blockbuster films out there at the moment? Is there too much choice? Is it style over substance? What would you want Hollywood to do to improve the films you’ve been disappointed with?

On the flip side, is there something you’ve really enjoyed watching? Are we over exaggerating about there being a ‘crisis?’ What have your favourite films of the year been so far?

Let us know, drop us a comment we’d love to know!

Happy film watching folks!!
